The Haro Double Peak Trail is a quality recreational mountain bike.
And here are two reasons why you should consider it:
One, value for money. It is a great price for the components you get. As with the Sport, it’s one of our best value for money mountain bikes.
And two, it’s versatile. The Haro Double Peak is perfect for rail trails, family rides, short distance commuting and recreation-level mountain biking.
It’s made from aluminium.
But not the cheap stuff.
It’s called X6. This premium grade aluminium frame is one of the lightest and stiffest aluminum frames in our range. The finish is beautifully done too.
All the cables run internally. This protects them from mud, grit and constant maintenance.
The front of the Haro Double Peak Trail is suspended on the tried and proven Suntour XCM fork. It’s got 100mm of travel (or suspension movement) which makes it suitable for dirt, gravel, fire access roads and some entry-level mountain biking. And it has a hydraulic lock-out, so that you can turn off the suspension where required (its more efficient for climbing and road work). It is also adjustable to suit terrain or riiding style.
New Shimano M200 hydraulic disc brakes are an excellent recreational-level hydro brake system.
Hydraulic disc brakes are almost a must on any mountain bike. There are too many advantages:
First, less effort at the brake lever is required. This makes stopping - especially for pre-teens and teenagers - very, very easy.
Second, much less maintenance is required. Brake pads last longer and parts don’t really wear out.
And lastly, they’re safer. Because they work in all weather conditions; wet or dry and dusty.
And the gears:
Are all sourced from Shimano Shimano Altus - a complete system. There are two front gears (the latest modern trend now) and nine on the rear - delivering 18 gears.
All the components are great mid-level components; delivering smooth shifting and reliability.
