There are two different types of Giant Anthem mountain bikes:
- Giant Anthem 29er (and the carbon version, Anthem Advanced 29er)
- Giant Anthem 27.5 (and its carbon version, Anthem Advanced)
The Anthem 27.5 is no longer available in Australia. However, overseas it’s still part of Giant’s mountain bike range.
Well, the Anthem 27.5 is a trail bike. It has more suspension travel (130 front/110mm rear) and 27.5-inch wheels. This makes it perfect for trail riding, where you need a bike that’s a little more stable and able to handle slightly steeper terrain.
The Giant Anthem 29er and Anthem Advanced 29er are both completely different beasts.
The design language applied to the Anthem 29er family is intended for cross-country mountain biking where speed and efficiency are the end goals.
It’s a comfortable race bike.
Suspension travel consists of 100mm front/90mm rear.
In other words:
If you’re riding consists of smooth singletrack mixed with rail trails and bike paths, with lots of climbing and easy downhill trails - this is your bike.
